Our Mission

“Providing affordable advertising for East Fort Worth businesses, and remaking the image of East Fort Worth to reflect the truth about the low crime, wonderful citizens, and beauty of the area.”

The Greater Meadowbrook News started in 1979 as a classified advertising publication. It was purchased by Wanda Conlin and her son Jim Conlin in 1997.

Under their leadership, the the Greater Meadowbrook News became a rallying point for Eastside neighborhoods and business owners, and the Conlins gained a reputation for reporting tough issues facing the Eastside of Fort Worth.

With the death of Jim Conlin in 2013, Kathryn Kroll was promoted to Editor. In addition to being Editor for GMN, Kat wears a number of hats in East Fort Worth. She is the 2016-2017 President of BOHN, Brentwood Oak Hills Neighborhood Association, a technology/graphics instructor at the University of Texas at Arlington, and is a graphic designer at Handley Kwik Kopy, where the GMN office is now located.

In 2014, the decision was made to convert this small print publication into a multi page, multimedia website. Greater Meadowbrook News is available on desktop and mobile devices, with more color photos, videos and more stories than we could ever fit into the print edition. It is updated daily, maintains an archive of important stories and obituaries, and a weekend update newsletter is sent out each Friday to subscribers.

GMN will continue to provide current community news that affects residents on the Eastside of Fort Worth, and share photos of our readers  participating in community events.

We welcome "good news" stories from businesses, churches, clubs, government non-profits, etc. Submit the story to editor@greatermeadowbrooknews.com for review.

We reserve the right to edit for space (usually not a problem). We will not publish any story that demeans/denigrates any other member of our diverse community.
